John E. Manning

John E. Manning, 75, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 19, 2021 at Mater Dei Parish Immaculate Conception. Visitation will be Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. John was born the son of Lloyd and Evelina (Gibeau) Manning on July 16, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from South Sioux City High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. John married Kathy Webster on April 21, 1970. They enjoyed many years together until her passing in 2017. John worked for over 30 years at the 185th Air Refueling Wing. He also worked at Wilson Trailer for several years and lastly Scheels until his retirement. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and putting puzzles together. Spending time with his family and his faith were at the center of his life. John is survived by his children, James Manning of Sioux City, Virginia (Jim) Preston of Dakota City, Susanne (Brian) Kleve of Sanborn, and Joe Manning of Sioux City; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy; and brother, Bill.
