Jolene K. White

   Jolene Kay (Cleveland) White, 55, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at her residence.

   Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, followed by her celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City. 

   Jolene, the daughter of James “Jim” and Phyllis (Beargeon) Cleveland, was born January 24, 1967, in Sioux City.  Jolene was raised in South Sioux City, NE.  She attended South Sioux City Schools and graduated in 1985.  After high school, she started working at NE State Bank then went to work at Gateway 2000.

   While working at Gateway, Jolene met her future husband Mike “Hammer” Hammond.  They were united in marriage on November 23, 1991, in South Sioux City and this union was blessed with two children, Michael and Jessica.  Jolene and Mike later divorced.  Jolene then married Mikel White.

   Jolene was an excellent baker, loved her dogs dearly, and enjoyed watching dirt track racing.  For many years, she enjoyed making and selling jewelry, she had a real talent.  Throughout the years, she made many lasting friendships with her involvement in AA Groups.

   She is survived by her son, Michael Hammond; her daughter, Jessica Hammond; her parents, Jim and Phyllis Cleveland; four siblings: Jim (Nancy) Cleveland, Jayna (Bill) Whear, Jennifer (Brian) Lopez, and Janet (Chad) Morgan; special friend, Dave Roberts; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her children's father, Mike “Hammer” Hammond in 2015, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

   It is very difficult to say goodbye to someone we loved and cherished. May the hearts of those who loved her be filled with memories of joy.
