Joseph J. “Joe” Widner, 67, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Riverside United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Joe was born on February 18, 1955 in Sioux City, to Robert and Darlene (Lynberg) Widner. He attended Sioux City Schools and graduated from West High School. Following high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for four years. After completing his service with the Marines, Joe took classes at WITCC in Sioux City. He lived in various places throughout his life, but always stayed true to his Midwestern roots by remaining in the region.
Joe was a licensed ham radio operator, with a call sign of NN0I.
Survivors include his mother, Darlene Widner; a daughter, Sarah McCoy (Stacy); a son, Adam Widner (Kim); numerous grandchildren; and a brother, Michael “Mick” Widner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Widner.
