Joyce M. Gotschall

Joyce M. Gotschall, 79, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska, with Pastor Randy Knuth officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the funeral home. The family moved to Beldin, Nebraska, where Joyce attended, and graduated from Beldin High School in 1948. She married Norman Gotschall, Sr. in 1948. The couple moved to South Sioux City, Nebraska where Joyce was a homemaker, and continued to live until her death.Joyce loved to play board games with her children and grandchildren, as well as working puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.Survivors include 8 children, Mary (Alan) Nobbe, Joan Herrera, Sara Flores, Norman Gotschall, Shirley (Pat) Ward, Shanna Gotschall, Brian (Susan) Gotschall and Julie Johnson; 30 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren on the way; 1 sister, Nelda Phelps; special friends at Matney's Assisted Living; her cat, Baby; and all the other special people that called her "Mom" and "Grandma" .She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, Vernelda Schubert, Helen Schubert, Ruth Radke, Arlene Molczan; son, Charles A. Gotschall; grandson, Jimmy Lee Gotschall; and Norman Gotschall, Sr.
