Judee R. Kingsbury, 81, of Sioux City passed away on February 26, 2022 at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Shirbroun officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Judee was born March 12, 1940 in Correctionville, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Beers) Brown. She graduated from Correctionville High School and attended Morningside College in Sioux City. While working at First National Bank, Judee met Robert Kingsbury. The couple married on July 9, 1961 in Correctionville, Iowa. To this union, three children were born. Bob passed away on February 17, 2020 in Sioux City. Judee worked as a teacher for the Sioux City School system and also as an activity coordinator for St. Luke’s Hospital.
Judee enjoyed planting flowers, her time with mall walking friends and her coffee group, cooking for family, and taking care of her beloved dogs. She loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and spending time at Okoboji and winters in Arizona with Bob. Judee was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 50+ years.
Survivors include her children Doug (Vonna) Kingsbury of Lawton, IA, Julie (Robert) Glisar of Sergeant Bluff, IA, and Laurie (Ralph) Oxley of Marion, IA; grandchildren: Kelsey (Adam) Cory, Bre Oxley, Megan Wegher, Brittney (Dillon) Besser, Katelyn Kingsbury, Nathan Glisar, Karson Kingsbury, Kenten Kingsbury, and Braden Oxley; great grandchildren: Brody, Melia, Kinley, and Cal; brother Marvin (Karolyn) Brown; sister-in-law Carla Brown; brothers-in-law: Richard Kingsbury and Tom (Rita) Kingsbury; and sister-in-law Janet (Rick) Lundgren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, brother Roger, and sister-in-law Karen Kingsbury.
