Julia Castillo-Deortega, 71, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. with a scriptural wake service at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Julia was born in Havana, Cuba on August 17, 1944, the daughter of Pedro Castillo and Juana Maria Perez. She married Pedro Ortega-Rodriguez. Julia was a homemaker. Their family moved to California in May, 1983, then to Sioux City, IA in 2009.She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing with her dog, Pee Wee, dancing and playing bingo.Survivors include her husband, Pedro; children, Gabriel (Jackie) Ortega, Hassan (Margaret) Ortega, Angel Ortega, Alma Flores and Paulette Garcia; grandchildren, Eddie Lugo, Salina Lang, Angel Diaz, Briana, Jasmine, Gabriel, Damian, Isaias, Gabriela, Samuel, Gianna and David Ortega; and great-grandchildren, Jayden and Izaiah Lang, Xzander and Xavier Lugo and Annalesse Diaz.
