June Lockwood

Mary “June” Lockwood, 90 of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 20, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. 

June was born the daughter of Clayborne and Lillis (Peters) Howard on June 6, 1934 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1952. June married Harold “Lucky” Lockwood on September 18, 1954 in South Sioux City. Harold passed away in 1989.

She enjoyed keeping busy. Whether it was tending to her geraniums or decorating her home, she was always on the go. She also enjoyed being outdoors and sitting on her porch. She was always well dressed, fiercely independent, and never afraid to share her opinion.

June is survived by her children, Gail (John) Hemschemeyer and Russell (Lisa) Lockwood; nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Bob and Diana Legrand and Debby Miller. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucky; and siblings, Bob, Paul, Harry, and Virginia.
