Dateline: Ponca, NEKaren L. Jorgensen, 54, of Ponca, NE passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at a local hospital, following a brief illness.Memorials services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Karen was born December 28, 1963 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Duaine and Joyce (Otten) Vanderlinden. She attended school in Sioux City, worked at IBP, BPI, The Little Welding Store, and various other jobs. She moved to Ponca in 2001. Karen married Jeff Jorgensen on August 15, 2009 in Brainerd, MN.She volunteered at the food pantry and enjoyed raising animals on Goat Mountain and going to the drag races.Survivors include her husband, Jeff Jorgensen of Ponca, NE; a daughter, Jessica Vanderlinden (Gonzalo Godina) of Sioux City, IA; grandson, Terry Trizila; her mother, Joyce Vanderlinden of Sioux City, IA; brothers, Duaine Vanderlinden of Hot Springs, SD and Terry (Teresa) Vanderlinden of Kingsley, IA; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Duaine Vanderlinden; and brothers, David Vanderlinden, Jeff Smith, and Rick Vanderlinden.
