Karen S. Reynolds

Karen Sue Reynolds, 74, of Sioux City, Iowa, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by her family on September 25, 2024 at a local hospital. Per Karens' strong wishes, no services will be held.

Karen was born on Sunday, May 21, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Clarence and Mae (Oakley) Jorgensen. She grew up in the Sioux City area and attended the Lawton-Bronson school district.

She married Stephen Schultzen on December 9, 1966. To this union 2 children were born, daughter Debbie and son Brad Schultzen. They remained married until his death on November 22, 1988 from pancreatic cancer.

She later married Bryan Reynolds on May 14, 1994 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, Iowa.

Karen held a number of positions over the years including being a supervisor at MCI, being one of the first supervisors at the opening of Lowe's, the blood bank and Esurance before retiring at the age of 62.

Her hobbies included sharing her love and passion of horses and dogs. She was a fabulous cook and baker who loved trying new recipes. She loved spending time outdoors, working in her numerous flowerbeds and snuggling up with her beloved yorkie, Mickey. Above all things, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma gigi, sister, aunt & friend.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bryan; daughter, Debbie Schultzen; son, Brad (Suzanne) Schultzen; stepson, Billy Reynolds; grandchildren, Stephen (Suzi) Larson, Karilynn (Adam) Oberg, Cody (Cait) Schroeder, Bryce Schultzen, Tanner, Tucker, Tyler Draayer and MiKayla (Nathan) Davis; great-grandchildren, Kayge, Kaiden, Kinsley, Barren, Kayson, Wesson, Amelia, Korver, Jaxson, Kaysn and Shiloh; brother, Jim (Carol) Jorgensen; several nieces, nephews and her four legged companion, Mickey.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Stephen Schultzen; and sisters, Connie Stanwick and Carol Coenen.
