Karen G. Swick

Karen G. Swick, 78, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021.  Abiding by her wishes cremation will take place and there will be no service.  

Karen was born the daughter of Verdell Greeny, Sr. and Edna Mae Greeny  on February 15, 1943.  She married Archer L. Swick on February 18, 1967 in South Sioux City, Nebraska.  They made their home in Sioux City where Karen kept the books at DC Station which Archer operated for several years.  She also worked for The Fiesta and the Lunch Room.  She lived her entire life in the Siouxland area.

Karen enjoyed crocheting, bowling in several leagues, and playing cards with John and Mary Ann.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Karen is survived by her children, Leslie Swick of Sioux City, Kelly (Robin) Swick of Washta, and Kevin Swick of Sioux City; grandchildren, Linley (Amber) Swick, Wesley Swick, Cody Swick, Cory (Sarah) Swick, and Kayla (Dave) Townsley; 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; siblings, Rick (Cheryl) Greeny, Dwayne (Janet) Greeny, Danny (Marlene) Greeny, and Mary Jo Yudka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Verdell; husband, Archer; brothers, Verdell Jr. and Ronnie; niece, Tonya; and brother-in-law, Roger.
