Karla Jo Lohry

Karla Jo Lohry, a cherished member of her family and community, left this world on Monday, December 9, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 66.

Per her wishes, Karla has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Born on June 1, 1958, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Karl and E. Joanne (Kallsen) Busler, Karla’s warmth and kindness touched everyone she encountered.

Karla pursued her education with passion, graduating from Omaha, NE, and later attending the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where she earned her degree in botany and medical technology. Her career as a medical technologist at St. Luke's Hospital showcased her commitment to helping others and her deep understanding of the importance of health and science.

Outside of her professional life, Karla had an adventurous spirit that thrived in nature. She loved spending time at Blanche Lake, MN, where she often found peace and joy. Karla was an avid golfer, a passion that allowed her to enjoy the outdoors and forge unforgettable memories with family and friends. However, her greatest love was for her family, whom she treasured above all else.

Karla is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Lohry, of Dakota Dunes, who stood by her side through all of life’s challenges and joys. She leaves behind her beloved children, Andrew (Natalie) Lohry and Alexandra (Brandon) Wegher, and grandchildren, Jackson and Roman, who carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. In addition to her immediate family, Karla is also survived by her brother, Doug Busler, and her sister, Rebecca (Kurt) Rye.

Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Joanne Busler, and a brother, Paul Busler.

Karla’s life was marked by her unfailing dedication to her family and a profound ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
