Kathryn Ann Macklin

Kathryn Ann Macklin, 87, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021.  A memorial service will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 1, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  To view the service online please visit https://youtu.be/2O_RofxKzD4

Kathryn was born the daughter of Martin and Frances (Hudec) Maslonka on May 13, 1933 in Thurston County, Nebraska.  She graduated from Walthill High School.  Kathryn married Norman Macklin on September 1, 1951.  Norman passed away in 1987. 

When the kids were older, Kathryn went to work for Sears in the catalog department until it closed in 1993.

She enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends & family, crafting, and was an avid gardener. 

Kathryn is survived by her children, Bonnie Smith (Dan Kahl) of Tucson, Arizona, Martin Macklin of Fort Worth, Texas, Brad Macklin (Barbara Wyss) of Marana, Arizona, Kevin Macklin of Sioux City, Iowa, and Lisa (Gerald) Koolstra of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; sisters, Fran Cerny of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Rita (Bud) Hackbarth of Plymouth, Nebraska; grandchildren, Scott Smith, Michael (Christy) Smith, Amanda Scott, Chris (Amanda) Macklin, Robert (Beverly) Macklin, Karen (Ethan) Javers, Brandon (Kelsey) Koolstra and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; sister, Dorothy Muhe; brothers, Stan Maslonka and Conrad Maslonka; and brothers-in-law, Bob Macklin and Richard Muhe.
