Kathryn N. Palmer, 72, of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Omaha. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Pastor Todd Schlitter officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Kathryn was born on August 8, 1949 in Primghar, Iowa, to Glenn and Norene (Riser) Pry. She attended school and graduated high school in Sanborn, Iowa. On October 21, 1972, she married Andrew J. “AJ” Palmer in Sioux City. To this union, three children were born. Andrew passed away on March 22, 1999 in Sioux City.

 

Kathryn began her career as a medical transcriptionist with St. Luke’s Hospital shortly after her high school graduation, where she remained for over 45 years until her retirement.

 

Kathryn was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City for many years.

 

In her spare time, Kathryn enjoyed Iowa Hawkeyes Football trips, bowling, and golfing; watching her grandchildren play sports, and spending time with them as they grew up.

 

She is survived by her children: Bethany Palmer Crocker (Paul), Kelli Palmer (Gary), and Adam Palmer (Dani); grandchildren: Kolton Crocker, Ysabella Arredondo, London Crocker, Zilyn Stevens, and Wrenn Miller; siblings: John Pry, Clifford Pry, Dawn Pry, Shelly Sommers, and Jana Fitzgerald; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, AJ; her parents; a sister, Judy Pry; and a brother, Gene Pry.
