Kathy Jean Tiller

Kathy Jean Tiller, 72, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away January 29, 2022 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.  At this time there are no services planned.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is handling the arrangements.  

Kathy was born July 13, 1949 to Norman and Helen (Drum) Tiller in Sioux City, Iowa. Kathy was a beautiful and very intelligent toddler until at 2 years of age she got sick with polio and encephalitis. She was the first case of encephalitis in Sioux city. Kathy survived but lost her ability to walk and talk. Kathy was raised in a very loving home and lived with her family until she entered regency nursing home. Kathy was the purest soul to ever grace this earth. She never met a person she didn't immediately love and offer a smile and hug too. She enjoyed going in the car with her mother and sister. Kathy led a good life for all the limitations she had. Kathy will be missed by many but we know in our hearts she is making up for 70 years of conversations, of running and jumping and being pain free, something she was never able to do.

Kathy is survived by a niece Steffanie and Richard DeBoer of Bella Vista Arkansas. Great nieces: Kelsey and John Barner of South Sioux city Nebraska and their children Zoe, Jace, Mia, Lily; Kayla and Chad Hasselbeck of Frontenac, Kansas and great nephew Kody Barclay and fiancé Brooke Boyle and their daughter Emery of Homer Nebraska. 

Kathy was proceeded in death by her parents Norman and Helen Tiller. Sister Luann Davis and a brother Lance Tiller.
