Kaye A. Lau, 80, life-long resident of Sioux City, passed peacefully at home on July 15, 2020 after her battle with cancer. A grave side service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with Pastor Fred Sundt officiating. Kaye was born April 22, 1940 in Sioux City to Harold and Frances (Hansel) Hamlow. She attended the Sioux City schools before marrying Terence (Terry) Lau on October 1, 1956 in South Sioux City, NE. Kaye gave birth to Lucinda Lau on August 9, 1959. Kaye worked in sales at JC Penny for 18 years and Younkers for 8 and a half years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to car shows and belonged to the Classic Chevy 50 Car Club. Kaye loved spending time with her family, attending all the family gatherings that she could. Kaye is survived by her grandson, Jason (Cindy) Baker of Wasilla, AK and Joshua Baker of Sioux City, IA; Seven great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Kaye is proceeded in death by her husband; sister, Maxine Lammers; brother, James Hamlow; and parents. She is joined in death by her daughter, Lucinda, who died two days after her mother.
