Kenneth Paul Johnson

November 29, 1948 — February 9, 2023

Kenneth Paul Johnson, 74, of Richfield, MN, formerly of Sioux City, IA, passed away February 9, 2023 in Edina, MN.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16th at 12:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ken was born on November 29, 1948 in Sioux City, IA to K. Paul Sr. and Doris (Smith) Johnson.  He graduated from Central High School in 1968 and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served before being honorably discharged.  Ken then began his career as a mechanical draftsman where he worked for several companies throughout the country, including: Winnebago, 3M, GM and Ford.  He was united in marriage to Roxana Schmidt on January 5, 1998 in Sioux City.  He was an avid rock hound and enjoyed lapidary, making jewelry for family members.  He had hobbies that included woodworking, carving and Legos, and helped teach woodshop at Richfield Middle School.  Ken also volunteered his time at the local community center where he taught lapidary and woodworking skills.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Roxana Johnson, Richfield, MN; sons: Luke Johnson, Richfield, MN, Colin Francis, Buffalo, MN; 3 grandchildren: Cian, Shaylee and Silas Francis; siblings: Nancy Johnson, Sioux City, IA, Carl (Tammy) Johnson, Sgt. Bluff, IA, David (Debra) Johnson, Hopkins, MN, Jay (Laurie) Johnson, Burbank, SD; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dan.
