Kenneth L. Potts, 82, of Burbank, SD, formerly of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his residence, while surrounded by his family.Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M., with the family present at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Thursday. Private family burial next to his loving wife, Sheryll will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City, IA on Friday.Kenneth was born on July 24, 1934 in Macy, NE, the son of John Potts, Jr. and Melissa (Funkhouser) Potts. He met the love of his life, Sheryll Kelley at the Thacker Roller Rink in South Sioux City, NE and they were married on September 5, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church in Sioux City, IA. He was a livelong resident of South Sioux City, NE and was owner/operator of Potts Floor Covering.Kenneth was a member of the South Sioux City Knights of Columbus and Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dept., was a Boy Scout leader and coached baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a gift for making everyone laugh.Survivors include his children, Kevin and Jackie Potts of South Sioux City, NE, Michele and Dale Pedersen of Minneapolis, MN, Lori Tranmer of Olympia, WA and Sherry Kelley of Dunn, NC; daughter-in-law, Lori Potts of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Shane and Jenni Potts, Patrick Grace, Sara Karpuk, Micheala Abercrombie, Tanisha and Joshua Pedersen, Travis and Troy Potts, Damon Wiffen, Kelley Thomson, Mitzi McAndrews, Dylan Thomson, and Andy, Cody and Kelsie Potts; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dixie True, Max and Denny Potts, Soni McCandless, Penny Whalen and Ardie Laird; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheryll Potts; a son, Russell Potts; infant daughter, Mary Catherine; parents, John and Melissa Potts; and a brother, Lloyd Potts.
