Kenneth E. "Kenny" Robinson, 57, of Sioux City, passed away suddenly Friday, May 22, 2020. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am -12:30 pm. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Kenneth was born to the son of Charles W. and Margaret (Galloway) Robinson on July 13, 1962 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from West High School as a star athlete. Kenny was a phenomenal basketball player. He was a dominant force on the court and a true competitor. From the words of Coach Jim Hinrich “Kenny was a horrible practice player, but when it was Friday night game-time, he turned a switch on and exploded with greatness! I’d never seen anything like that”. Sioux City was always home for Kenny. Kenny was a jack of all trades and self-employed for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved outings, playing basketball, watching football games, and enjoyed the Casinos. He had a larger than life spirit, a great smile, and will be sincerely missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Kenny is survived by his children, Tiffany Beyer of Westfield, Sharel Banks of Sioux City, Jasmyn Martin of Waterloo, Shanea Banks of Sioux City, and Lastacia Shupe of Sioux City; siblings, Gloria Vaughns, Tena Butler, Johnny Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Ronnie Robinson, and Corey Robinson; grandchildren, Conner Beyer, Nevaeh Beyer, Shamar Harrell, Shalyse Banks, Icyss Randolph-Banks, Schadae Harrell, Braelyn Beyer, Joseph Franklin, Gia Neal, Imani Neal, and 28 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of our dad. We would like to thank everyone who has shown love and support during this tragic time. Thank you for all the prayers, sharing your love and joy, and sharing grief we all have endured. We truly appreciate it.
In the words of Kenny, “Always tell your loved ones you love them every chance you get. You never know when your number is going to be called. Every day is a Blessing.”
