Kenneth L. “Kenny” Klug, 67 of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Kenny was born on July 14, 1954 in Sioux City, with his twin brother Keith Leo, to Raymond H. and Pearl (Lee) Klug. He attended a rural country school for two years before going on to attend and graduate from Emerson-Hubbard Community Schools. He went on to live in South Sioux City for some years before settling in Sioux City. Kenny lived in Kingsley, IA and baptized into the Lutheran faith there. After a short time later, he moved to a farm in Hubbard, NE.
On May 13, 1999 he married Kristin Flammang in Sioux City. The two shared 22 years of marriage before Kenny’s passing.
Kenny began his working career at Waldbaum’s Chicken Factory in Wakefield, Nebraska. He then began working as a grinder for South Sioux City Foundry, and remained with them from 33 years until his retirement.
In his spare time, Kenny loved fishing, walking dogs, and being outdoors in general. He also enjoyed spending time at home, and completing puzzles or playing cards. Kenny had a big heart, and he loved children.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 22 years, Kristin Klug of Sioux City; sisters: Velma Wiig of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Norma McParland (Ken) of Sioux City; brother, Keith Klug (Sandy) of Omaha, Nebraska; nieces: Dawn Davis (Randy), and Anna Wiig; nephews: Shawn Klug (Becca) and their two daughters, and Jason Wiig (Shannon) and their two children; several grandnieces and grandnephews; sister-in-law, Kerry Ruehle; and brothers-in-law: Kevin Flammang (Diane), and Kirk Flammang (Nancy).
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; a brother, Jody Klug; brother-in-law, Mike Ruehle, and Duane Wiig; a niece, baby girl Wiig; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family for future designation.
