Kim J. (Pojar)Benton, 49 of Sac City, Iowa, formerly of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at a Sioux City hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation with the family present was at 1:00 P.M., with a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Mohr Funeral Home, 1000 W. 29th Street, South Sioux City, NE with Rev.Andrew Ratcliffe of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sac City, Iowa officiating. At Kim's request, her body will be cremated and graveside services will be held at a later date at the Dakota City Cemetery.Kim was born on February 10, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa to Pat and Bev (Lumsden) Pojar. She attended and graduated from South Sioux City High School. After graduation she worked for Aalfs for numerous years. She moved to Odebolt, Iowa and worked for the Pilot Tribune in Storm Lake, Iowa. She then moved to Sac City, Iowa, where she was later diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Kim enjoyed watching the Food Channel, numerous crafts, and especially her grandchildren.Kim is survived by her husband, Don Benton of Sac City, Iowa; 3 daughters, Cassie and her husband, Hector DeLaO of Early, Iowa, Brandy Kron of Carrington, North Dakota, Lacie and her husband, Jeff Rench of Sac City, Iowa; one son, Justin Crum of Sac City, Iowa; stepchildren, Cory Horjes, Patrick Benton, Nick Benton and Sidney Benton; 14 grandchildren, with 2 more pending; her father, Pat Pojar; 2 sisters, Terrie and her husband, Dale Vitito of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Amy Harris of Hollywood, Florida; 1 brother, Chris Pojar and his wife, Marsha of Cassville, Wisconsin, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Pojar; 1 brother, Joe Pojar and her grandparents. Honorary pallbearer will be her late brother, Joe Pojar.
