Kim Dohma, 46, of Ponca, NE passed away at home, while surrounded by her family, on November 14, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer.Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Dr. Bud Christenson officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in rural Ponca. Visitation with the family present will begin at the church at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE. Online condolences may be posted at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Kimberly Jo was born on August 16, 1965 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Wayne and Carol (Olson) Lamprecht. She grew up in Ponca and graduated from Ponca High School in 1984. Kim married Kevin Dohma on September 15, 1984 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca. To this union two children, Courtney and Matthew, were born. Kim worked several years at Centennial Lanes in Ponca as a waitress where she made countless friends. Later she established her own cleaning business.She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Ponca Athletic Boosters.Kim and Kevin enjoyed many "lifetime happenings" - a trip to Hawaii, two cruises, trips to Florida and Cancun, watching their son, Matt's football team win the Nebraska C-2 State title in 2009, and the marriage of Courtney in 2010. They especially enjoyed outings on the Missouri River for several summers. She was anxiously waiting to become a first time grandmother to Baby Taylor in December.Survivors include her husband, Kevin Dohma of Ponca; children, Courtney (Ben) Taylor and Matthew Dohma and his special friend, Haley Brown; parents, Wayne and Carol Lamprecht; mother-in-law, Audrey Dohma, all of Ponca; brother, Kyle (Michelle) Lamprecht of Walthill, NE; sister, Koni Lundin; brother-in-law, Richard (Joni) Dohma all of Ponca; sister-in-law, Susan (Doug) Smith of Martinsburg, NE; 15 nieces and nephews, 2 great-nephews; and 1 great-niece.Kim was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Donald Dohma.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for memorials to be established at a later date.
