Kim August Meske. 70, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Lukes Hospital.
DeLores (Crow) and Elmer Meske adopted 3 biological brothers, Arlan and twins, Ky and Kim. They grew up in Brookings, SD before moving to Sioux City. Kim was among the last of the graduating class of the old East High before the school was torn down.
As an adult, Kim worked for Fred Astaire dance studio as a dance instructor for many years. He was really good at whatever task or job he was assigned.
Kim met the love of his life, Dexter Johnson in 1988 at a teachers and students dance corporation in St. Louis, MO. (Dexters hometown). It was love at 1st sight as they never grew bored of one another. They'd spend countless hours talking on the phone while Kim was still residing in Omaha. He would drive to St. Louis every other weekend just to see Dexter. Upon Kim's persistence, Dexter knew that Kim would be his forever and that it just how it has been for over 42 loving and amazing years together.
Many would say that Kim was a hard-ass but he was never that way with Dexter. He was one of the kindest men that one could come into contact with.
He always showed respect to others unless he was pushed too far. As a true Taurus (Bull), Kim could definitely be stubborn.
He meant the world to his partner and was a humble and nice guy to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
He would catch anyone off guard with his laugh that was so outrageous and funny that everyone in ears distance were forced to laugh as well.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents DeLores and Elmer Meske (Crow).
Those left behind to cherish his precious memories are his partner, Dexter; sons, Brandon and Damon Swenson; and grandson, Jacob Swenson.
