Kristel Lynn Mai Ingalls, 52, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 after a very lengthy illness. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 with a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Kristel was born the daughter of Tom and Bon (Niichel) Mai on January 19, 1969 in Orange City, Iowa. She graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School in LeMars and attended Briar Cliff University. Kristel married Michael Ingalls on May 10, 1996.
She worked for Shopko Pharmacy, ran in-home daycare, and worked at an assisted living facility over the years.
Kristel enjoyed traveling with her husband, Michael. It started out on work trips and then evolved into international travel to the Galapagos Islands, Mexico, and Ireland. She cherished her time with her family and her dogs. A big part of her life has always been being a caregiver. She always made sure the house was in order and loved on anyone who walked through her door.
She was a member of Holy Cross Parish Blessed Sacrament. Her Catholic faith and raising her children in it were very important to her.
Kristel is survived by her husband, Michael Ingalls of Sioux City; children, Jamie Berg of Pasadena, Maryland, Michaela Marian of Omaha, and Monika Ingalls of Sioux City; mother, Bon Mai of Dakota Dunes; and step-father, Argyl Ullestad of Ankeny.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Mai and mother and father-in-law, Loran and Betty Ingalls.
