LaVonne E. Mathis

LaVonne Mathis, 79, of South Sioux City, NE passed away August 20, 2021 at a local hospital.  A private graveside service will be held at Pierson Greenwood Cemetery in Pierson, Iowa.

LaVonne was born on May 12, 1942 in Pierson, IA to Willie and Frances (Jeffrey) Florke.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting, donating many of her quilts to churches and veterans. 

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jay (Rebecca) Mathis, Dakota City, NE; Lori Harper, Montana; Jeff (Teresa) Mathis, Garretson, SD; Shelly (William) Hittle, Buckeye, IA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the funeral home in her name for future designation.
