Lawrence "Larry" G. Deming

Lawrence “Larry” G. Deming, 67, of Sioux City, IA, passed away August 16, 2021 at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 31 at 1:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Those attending are asked to dress casual or wear your favorite Harley Davidson shirt.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Larry was born on January 18, 1954 in Beaufort, SC to Walter and Rosemary (Huxtable) Deming.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was promoted to the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged.  He married the love of his life, Victoria “Vicki” Wendzillo on June 11, 1983 in Sioux City.  Larry worked as a plant foreman at Besser IPMC until retirement.

His greatest love was his family and spending time with them.  His 5 grandchildren were very special to him.  He loved his cats, Nala and Nicki, his Harley, the Chicago Cubs, and his Killian’s beer.  He enjoyed deer hunting and won the ”Big Buck Award” while a member of the Chaheeta Bow Hunters Club. On nice days, Larry could be found riding his Harley in scenic areas like the Loess Hills or with his biker buddies to Smithland, Soldier and Moorhead. He enjoyed hanging out with his Bob Roe’s family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Vicki, Sioux City, IA; sons: Aaron (Brittany) Deming, Elkhorn, NE, Adam Deming, Sioux City, IA; grandchildren: Ember, Sloan, Spencer, Coen, and Wells; brothers, John (Rita) Deming, Rob (Tina) Deming, Mike (Sue) Deming, sister Rosemary McKinley; sisters-in-law Patsy, Linda, JoAn, Sandy and Cyndi; 1 brother-in-law Phil (Molly); numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rosemary; grandparents; brother Steve; his parents-in-law, Donna and Tony Wendzillo; 7 brothers-in-law; nephew Nick; good friend, Jerry Loida.

Larry was especially proud to have served in the Marine Corps like his father and father-in-law as well as the family members who served in all branches of the military.
