Lillian Brown-Schuttpelz, 82, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
Lillian was born November 23, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Lillian and Luie McMahan. She married John Brown in Elk Point, SD. Together they raised five children, Don Brown of Sioux City, Iowa; Julie (Bob) Coney of South Sioux City, NE; Wendy (Rick) Ohl of Sioux City, Iowa; Georgia (Carl Franklin) Brown of Liberty Township, Ohio; and Joshua Brown of Sioux City, Iowa. After John’s passing, she met and married Carl Schuttpelz in Sioux City, Iowa.
Lillian loved being a grandma to Ashley, Erin, Samantha, Heather, Krystal, Jamie, Erika, Kaine, and Nadia. She had numerous great-grandkids and loved hearing stories about them, getting pictures, and watching them all grow up. She was so proud of her beautiful family. Among other things, she enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. She particularly enjoyed the big family get-togethers at the holidays so she could see everyone, and of course, bake. Above all, she loved God and spent countless hours reading the Bible and in prayer. Her big secret desire was to design clothes and was privately an amazing artist.
The friends in her building provided her with endless hours of companionship, conversation, and cooking. Her family thanks them all for being there for her and keeping her company.
Lillian is preceded in her trip to Heaven by two husbands, John Brown and Carl Schuttpelz; her mother, Lillian Sundt, and stepfather, George Sundt; a brother, Luie McMahan; and two grandsons, Anthony Pantona and Dylan Eyer. Per Lillian’s request, there will be no formal service. She asked that you say a prayer and keep her in your thoughts.
