Linda Marie Auen

Linda Marie Auen, 75, of Sioux City, IA, passed away June 21, 2021 at a local hospital.  A funeral service will be held Friday, June 25 at 11:00 AM at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Linda was born on January 22, 1946 in Atlantic, IA to Garland and Vivian (Bird) Armstrong.  She attended Central High School.  She was united in marriage to Ernest Griffith on March 5, 1970, they later divorced.  In her younger years, Linda worked as a housekeeper for the Warrior Hotel.  She loved to bake and cook, and always wanted to be a cake decorator.  Linda enjoyed playing cards, games, and planting flowers.  She had quite the green thumb.  Linda was a woman who was strong in her faith and will be missed by her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter Lynda Dirks, Le Mars, IA; son, Kevin Gilbert, Sioux City, IA; sister, Julie Baskin, Omaha, NE; and a grandson, Paul Griffith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dan Armstrong; and son, James Armstrong.
