Linda L. Hawkenson

Linda L. Hawkenson, 80 of Jefferson, South Dakota passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. 

Linda was born the daughter of Robert and Leona (Elsasser) Beavers on January 8, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Linda married James Bradshaw on July 11, 1964. To this union three sons were born. She later married Arthur Hawkenson on December 14, 1990. Art passed away in 2001. 

Linda was a homemaker until her boys were in school. She later worked for Cody’s Homestead and Industrial Builders. 

She became the “family cheerleader”; always attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a great neighbor and friend. She enjoyed going to Musketeer hockey games and scrapbooking. 

She volunteered her time at hospice and was an active cub scouts den mother, where she led an annual paper drive. 

Linda is survived by her sons, Barry (Bonnie) Bradshaw, Bart (Michelle) Bradshaw, and Robert Bradshaw; siblings, Jack (Sheila) Beavers, Avis (Don) Hasson, Cheryl (Pat) Gates; and grandsons, Adam Bradshaw and Nicholas Bradshaw and his girlfriend, Kaia Sueker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; longtime friend, Eugene Rush; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Bradshaw.
