Lois A. Carlson, 83, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, NE.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the funeral home.Lois was born on August 22, 1933 in Snyder, NE, the daughter of Herbert and Helen (Reusch) Engelbrecht. She graduated from Snyder High School. Lois married George Carlson on July 3, 1951 in Sioux City, IA. The couple moved to Sioux City, where they raised three children. She worked at various jobs. George passed away in 2012.Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and her flowers.Survivors include 3 children, Gary (Pat) Carlson of Florida, George Carlson of Sioux City, IA and Ruth Carlson of Dakota City, NE; and 1 sister, Donna.Lois was preceded in death by her husband, George Carlson; and her parents, Herbert and Helen Engelbrecht.
