Lynette Faye Bock-Carlson, 75 of Sioux City passed away Monday, January 27, 2025. Funeral services will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M.
Lynette was born the daughter of Otto and Marjorie (Soverign) Case on March 29, 1949 in Beldon, Nebraska. After graduating from Randolph High School in 1967, she left for the big city life in South Sioux City where she met and married Bernard Bock. To this union, three sons were born, Tim, Sheyenne, and Brian. After Bernard’s passing, Lynette eventually remarried Gordon H. Carlson and remained in Sioux City.
Lynette’s love of cooking led her to a career in food service. She was a cook at The Crystal Café and she retired from the Sioux City Courthouse Café.
Lynette loved being outdoors. She could be found tending to her garden and plants. She loved doing crossword puzzles on her front porch with her dog, Levi on her lap.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and thanks to St. Croix Hospice, especially to John, Sherry, Amy, Tabitha and family members Ashlyn and Sanariah.
Lynette is survived by her sons, Tim (Joni) Bock, Sheyenne (Rhonda) Bock, and Brian (Jennifer) Bock; 10 grandchildren, Bryce (Stephanie) Bock, Brittany (Alex) Keegan, Joey Bock, Meghan Bock, Katelyn Bock, Taylor Baker, Jared Baker, Hunter Frost, Paige Bock, and Gage Bock; 9 great-grandchildren, Xander, Kynslee, Elliot and Abby Bock; Bowan Bock, Blake Bock; Jay and Carson Certain; and Paris Hough; brother, Lyle Case and sister, Loretta Cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Bernard and Gordy; sister, Lois Lunda; and brothers, Jim Donner, Gene Donner, and Larry Case.
