Lynn Martin

November 13, 1943 — March 28, 2021

Lynn Martin, 77, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at a local hospital.

Lynn was born on November 13, 1943 in Sioux City to Gilbert and Bernadine (Morey) Martin. He graduated from Leeds High School in 1961. Lynn was a Leeds Guy all his life, having always lived in Sioux City.

During his working years, Lynn worked for Sioux Tools but spent the majority of his life working as a computer parts clerk in the plumbing and heating industry.

In his free time, Lynn enjoyed fishing and classic cars. He loved going to car shows and was extremely knowledgeable about old cars. He specifically loved Chevys, and in particular took pride in his 1965 Chevelle. Until his health declined in the past year, he would go to coffee each morning with his Leeds friends, although he never once tried it himself. He was always there to spend time with the guys. He also drove to Omaha each weekend for the past seven years to visit his girlfriend, Elizabeth.

He travelled with his son Kristopher for years, taking him to his hockey games and various hockey camps across the Midwest.

Left to cherish his memory include his children: Kristopher Martin of Sioux City; Scott Martin (Diane) of Sioux City; and Lisa Furlong of Ohio; and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Moulton of Omaha, NE.

Lynn is also survived by his best friend, Larry Axlund and his significant other, Marcia Deirup. If Lynn ever needed anything, he knew he could count on Larry and Marcia. They were always there to help him however they could.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Norm Martin.

Lynn fought incredibly hard to rehabilitate his life and regain his health after suffering a stroke in 2010. His son Kris took care of him for the past 10 years following the stroke, and took care of him full time for the past three years which allowed Lynn to continue living at home.
