Marcella R. Haynes-Domsch, 88, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton, NE. Visitation with the family present will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Marcella was born on April 15, 1927 in Walnut, NE, the daughter of Stephen and Minnie (Smolek) Prochaska. She graduated from Creighton High School in 1945. She married Ira Haynes on December 22, 1947. The couple lived in Plainview and Norfolk area before settling in South Sioux City. Marcella worked in various jobs before becoming a cook for the South Sioux City Schools, where she worked for many years. Ira passed away on November 2, 1983. After Ira passed away Marcella was a foster parent for many children. She married Louis Domsch in 1985. Louis passed away in 2005.She was a very active member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. She was also a member of The Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and a lifetime member of the Dakota City American Legion Auxiliary. She was very creative and enjoyed all types of crafts, including ceramics, cake decorating, taxidermy and oil painting. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, playing Bingo, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.Survivors include her four daughters, Iryle Jean (Steve) Eastman of Phoenix, AZ, Cathy Jo (Thomas) Kirsch of Elgin, S.C., Marcia Wynn of Winfield, KS, and Janette (Scott) Arends of Dakota City, NE; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Leonard (Delores) Prochaska of Creighton, NE, Marguerite Beck of Sioux City, IA, and James (Janice) Prochaska of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Minnie Prochaska; her husbands, Ira Haynes and Louis Domsch; three brothers; and one sister.
