Marchelle Renee Nelson, 53, of Ponca, Nebraska went to be with her Lord and Savior quietly in her sleep at home on Sunday, May 30, 2010. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca with Rev. Dr. Neal Anthony and Pastor Sara Simmons officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery near Ponca. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the church. She grew up in the rural Ponca area and graduated from Ponca Public School. She married Larry Wayne Nelson on September 7, 1980 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ponca. The couple farmed throughout their married life. They were blessed with two children, Mary Michelle and Mark Anthony.Marchelle's role as a wife and mother gave her the greatest pleasure. Marchelle was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ponca throughout her life, until Aug. 20, 2006. She joined the Salem Lutheran Church in June of 2007. Marchelle expressed the joy of accepting Christ as her savior as a very young child. Her sacrament of Baptism was October 28, 1956. Her confirmation on November 8, 1970 always remained a very significant day as she began her Bible studies which held so much meaning for her. Marchelle was a Christian who lived following God's teachings. She was an avid student of the Bible who dedicated her time to telling others about the love of God for everyone. She praised him with joyous dedication for his place in her heart and life. She shared her love to her family and friends by word and example. She especially enjoyed attending the "Women of Faith" conferences and going to the Bill Gaither concerts. Both were an inspiration for living her faith in God. She shared her talents by singing in the church choir and teaching Sunday school. Marchelle helped her husband on the farm until his death in 2007. She volunteered as a teacher assistant in the Ponca Public School system for several years. She was a saleswoman for Weekender's Clothing Company. Marchelle will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Mary Nelson of St. Edward, Nebraska and Mark Nelson of Huron, South Dakota; her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Krause of Ponca, Nebraska; brothers and sisters, Janelle and her husband, Cal Harder of Ponca, Nebraska; Gary Krause and his wife, Suzanne of Hartington, Nebraska; Audrey Harder and her husband, Ron Clark of Allen, Nebraska; Kathleen and her husband, Phillip Marvin of Onawa, Iowa; Dianne Mastny of Norfolk, Nebraska; David Krause and his wife, Anne of Lincoln, Nebraska; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Gale Nelson, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Terry Nelson and his wife, Cheryl; Rick Nelson and his wife, Kellee all of Ponca; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her father, Clarence Krause; father-in-law, Arden Nelson; brother-in-law, Lee Harder; infant brother-in-law, Tommy Duane Nelson; and nephew Jeff Marvin.
