Marcia Mae Jacobson

December 22, 1929 — January 15, 2022

Marcia M. Jacobson, 92 of Dakota Dunes, died Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her residence after a brief illness.  Funeral Services will be at 1pm Friday, January 21, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Mark Bedford officiating. Private graveside service will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present will begin at noon on Friday at the church.  Arrangements are being handled by Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Memorials in her name may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Siouxland.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com

 

Marcia was born Dec 22, 1929 in Sioux City, eldest daughter of John F & Leona F Coates.  She attended school in Sioux City, graduating in 1948 from Central High School.  She attended one year at Grinnell College, Grinnell, IA.

 

Marcia was united in marriage to Robert I Jacobson on Aug. 25, 1950 where the couple made their home & raised their family.  Marcia worked for 6 years at Wincharger and 27 years as the office administrator of First Presbyterian Church.  She volunteered as clerk of session, organ committee, Presbyterian Women, & circles of First Presbyterian Church, auxiliary of Goodwill Industries & PTA at Hunt School.

 

Survivors include three children, Scott Jacobson of Dakota Dunes, Paula Schwarz of Dakota Dunes & David & his wife Shawn, of Winnebago, MN; three grandsons Joshua McKernan & his wife Lael of Sioux City and their daughters Laney, Eysla & Charlotte; Ryan Schwarz of Waseca, MN & his sons Jayden & Aston; and Logan Jacobson of Winnebago, MN & his son, Noah; and sister Barbara (Bill) Kingsley of Loveland, CO.

 

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband & sister Beverly Muir.

Honorary pallbearers Michael Rohlena & Jeffrey Rohlena.

Pallbearers Drew Cronin, Steve Cronin, Tim Cronin, & Rob Curran.
