Marguerite Tullis

March 15, 1929 — February 19, 2022

   Marguerite Tullis, 92, of rural Hinton, IA passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Bickford Memory Care in Sioux City.

   Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City.  Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

   Marguerite, the only child of Otto and Jewel (Campbell) Nitz, was born March 15, 1929 in Sioux City.  She was raised in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools graduating from Central High School.  As a teenager, Marguerite started working at T.S. Martin Department Store in Sioux City.

   On September 30, 1948, Marguerite was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Tullis at First United Methodist Church.  This union was blessed with three sons: Bruce, Kieth, and Paul.  The family made their home on a farm near Hinton and Marguerite was a hard-working homemaker.  She worked hand in hand with her husband on the farm.

   Marguerite enjoyed crafts, cooking and gardening.  She truly enjoyed caring for her animals and growing beautiful flowers.  In her younger years, Marguerite and her husband enjoyed going to dances with neighbors and friends and she also enjoyed league bowling.  Above all, she cherished spending time with family and friends.

   She is survived by three sons: Bruce (Cathy) Tullis of rural Merrill, IA, Kieth Tullis of rural Merrill, IA and Paul Tullis of rural Hinton, IA; five grandchildren: Lisa (Brandon) Williams, Mary (Byron) Tabor, Lacey (James) Oehlerking, Lindsey Tullis and Erin (Ryan) Johnson; and numerous great grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd on July 4, 2002; and great grandson, Heiden Williams.
