Marie M. Von Minden

Marie M.Von Minden, 89, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Waterbury, NE passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Sioux Falls.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in the Ponca Cemetery in Ponca, NE.Marie was born in Laurel, NE on November 15, 1925, the daughter of Kermit and Zora (Isom) Rhodman. She graduated from McGregor High School in McGregor, MN. Marie moved back to the area and married Diedrich Von Minden on February 9, 1946 in South Sioux City, NE. The couple settled in Waterbury, NE where she was a homemaker and they raised two sons and two daughters. She worked for Arby's for several years. Diedrich passed away on February 6, 1982.Marie was a lifetime member of the South Sioux City Eagle's Club. She loved to dance and also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening, and she frequently mastered the Omaha World Herald crossword puzzle.Survivors include three children, Diedrich "Rock" Von Minden of Beatrice, NE, Ann Wedekind of Omaha, NE and Donna (Ronald) Woodard of Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, LaVern Kraft and Marilyn (Larry) Mahler, all of Sac City, IA; and many nieces and nephews.Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Zora Rhodman; her husband, Diedrich Von Minden; a son, Robert Von Minden; brothers, Roy, Elvin, Walt and Norman Rhodman; and a sister, Lucille Kraft.
