Marilee D. Goethals

Marilee D. Goethals, 66, of Dakota City, NE passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Father David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, NE. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a vigil service at 5:30 P.M. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the funeral home.Marilee was born on May 21, 1950 in Chamberlain, SD, the daughter of Howard and Elizabeth (Zastrow) Kesselring. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1968 then worked for Casey Drug in Chamberlain. Marilee married Ed Goethals in 1974 in Chamberlain. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Marisa and Alieca. The couple moved to Vermillion, SD and Marilee worked for Piggly Wiggly. They then moved to Dakota City in 1979. She worked and retired from K-Mart before working for her current employer Office One Solutions.Marilee enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed checking cows with her sister-in-law, Gladys Fritz.Survivors include her husband, Edward Goethals; daughter, Alieca (Craig) Clift; granddaughters, Alyssa Simonson and Abbie Clift; brother, John (Joan) McNeil; sister-in-law, Gladys (Jim) Fritz; brother-in-law, Bernard (Julie) Goethals; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marisa Goethals; parents, Howard and Elizabeth Kesselring; a brother, Howard (Buzzy) Kesselring, Jr.; 1 niece and 2 nephews.
