Marilyn J. Rush

Marilyn J. Rush, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Holy Cross Parish Blessed Sacrament.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  

Marilyn was born the daughter of William I. and Elizabeth (Moynihan) Conley on December 30, 1933 in Storm Lake, Iowa.  She graduated from Heelan High School in 1951 and Briar Cliff St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1956.  Marilyn married James E. Rush on November 24, 1956 in Austin, Texas.  They made their home in Austin until moving back to Sioux City in 1961.  James passed away in 1988.

Marilyn was a nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for a short time before becoming a homemaker and raising her four boys. 

She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and enjoyed the companionship of her golden retrievers. 

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Patrick Rush of Austin, Texas, Mike Rush of Dallas, Texas, and Kevin Rush of Sioux City; and brother, James (Wilma) Conley of Escondido, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and son, Daniel Rush.
