Marilynn A. Desy, 79, of Sioux City, IA passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., April 11, 2023 at Cathedral of Epiphany in Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Marilynn was born December 11, 1943 to Albert and Martha (Fortune) Desy in Sioux City. She graduated from Leeds High School. She worked at Younkers for many years working in multiple departments. She later worked at the Bishop Cafeteria. She retired due to a lengthy illness. Marilynn was a lifelong member of the Cathedral of Epiphany and a Eucharistic Minister. She loved to volunteer her time at the church and the school. Marilynn’s top priority was spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. You could find her shopping through the isles of Walgreens with Kelly or one of her grandsons buying all the candy and knick-knacks for her grandchildren. She truly enjoyed taking care of her cat Hannah and had so much love for all animals.
She will be truly missed by her daughter, Kelly Osburn, of Sioux city, IA, two grandchildren, Cody (Sydney) Osburn of Lincoln, NE, Nolan (Jena) Osburn of Lincoln, NE, three great-grandchildren, Maylee, Saylor and Emerson Osburn, two brothers, Melvin “Ted” (Joann) Desy and Marvin (Pamela) Desy, many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her parents, Albert and Martha Desy, son-in-law, Mark Osburn, four brothers: Phil, Fred, Michael, Marlin, three sisters: Dorothy, Rowena and Martha.
