Marjorie L. Bokemper, 77, of Emerson, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson. Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson.
Marjorie was born the daughter of Levi and Ida “Bessie” (Moore) Grove on December 17, 1942 in Emerson, Nebraska. She graduated from Emerson High School. Marjorie married Tony Bokemper on September 17, 1960 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. They later divorced. She lived most of her life in Emerson and Hoskins, Nebraska and also spent a few years in California.
She was a very hard worker. She worked for IBP, Beef America, Waldbaum’s, Faith Regional, and Heritage of Emerson.
The most important part of her life was her family and grandchildren who she loved very much. She loved family gatherings and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a huge Alan Jackson fan and cherished the memories of seeing him in concert. She also enjoyed Husker football, dancing, playing cards, gardening, cooking and baking, and all country music.
She was a member of St Luke Lutheran Church. She was a woman of faith with a kind hearted caring soul who always had her door open to help anyone in need. She will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Russ (Carla) Bokemper of Wakefield, Nebraska, Mike Bokemper of Winside, Nebraska, and Penny (Mark “Fritz”) Clausen of Norfolk, Nebraska; brother, Jim (Sue) Grove of Kearney, Nebraska; grandchildren, Tina (Brian) Frohner, Ben (Julie) Bokemper, Mellissa (Tom) Schwedhelm, TeJai (Erika) Clausen, Madison Clausen, Zach Bokemper, Ashley Bokemper, Courtney Bokemper, and Logan Bokemper; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Ella, Rayden, Tinsley, Brantley, and Bosley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffery; sisters, Erma Gerling; Myrna Fendrick, Shirley Sebade, and Donna Evans; brothers, Francie Grove and Elmer Grove.
