Mark C. Larson, 62, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, December 31st, 2021 at Courage Homes in Sioux City, following a lengthy illness. Celebration of Life will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Meyers Brother Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Avenue, in Sioux City. Nancy Mullally and Pastor David Zirpel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, 6605 Morningside Ave. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family via www.meyerbroschapels.com
Mark Cameron Larson was born February 26, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Alan and Carol (Christiansen) Larson. Mark grew up in Sioux City and was actively involved in the community. Mark loved to travel in the car with his family and they would take many trips during his younger years. He always had his older brother Galen to look after him.
Mark enjoyed going to church and was always singing to the music, and playing his air guitar. Mark was a silly guy but knew when to mind his P’s and Q’s. Mark respected his mom and often stated, “Momma has two sons”. Mark moved into Mid-Step Services in 1998 and was employed with New Perspective’s and worked for Pepsi and Coca Cola throughout the years. Mark always lived with his brother Galen and they were rarely seen apart.
Mark was currently receiving dayhab services at Mid-Step Services and enjoyed everyone, especially Shannon Graves, who spent many hours with him during the pandemic. Mark’s last place of residency was at Courage Homes through Mid-Step Services.
Mark enjoyed everyone and built positive relationships there. Mark had a strong faith that he built throughout his life. Mark carried his faith with him and was strongly involved with the church. Mark was involved in Special Olympics, Aktion-Club Kiwanis, Believers Choir, Boots n Buckles.
Mark was a caring, and loving individual. He had a cat Nala that he talked about a lot. Mark had a laugh that could light up an entire room. Mark had many friends and will be extremely missed.
Survivors include Carol Larson (mother) and Galen Larson (brother).
He is preceded in death by his father Alan R Larson his Grandparents (Christiansen) and (Larson).
