Marlana was born September 10, 1933 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of William and Wanda (Raschinski) Conley. She was raised in Muscatine until she was 14 years old when the family moved to Sioux City. In 1954 she met the love of her life, John Krapfl, they married on October 29, 1955. Their love knew no bounds. They were truly a match made in heaven. To this union, five children were born. The couple shared 65 years of blissful marriage together. Marlana was a homemaker while the children were young. She later worked at Jackson Recovery Unit retiring from St. Luke's Hospital.
Marlana was a devout member of St. Michael's Church throughout her entire life. She proudly served on various committees, but her real passion was crocheting prayer shawls. Marlana loved nothing more than getting together monthly to play cards with her "girls". She loved traveling with John to visit their kids and grandchildren. For many years Marlana and John were "snowbirds", escaping the cold winters with many of their dear friends. She cherished those years.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband, John Krapfl of Sioux City; children Mark Krapfl of Sioux City, Dana Krapfl of Tacoma, WA, Pat (Corrine) Krapfl of Cedar Park, TX, Joe (Vickie) Krapfl of Hinton, IA, Collette (Pat) Ferdig of University Place, WA; grandchildren Shane Pierce, Chad (Ashely) Pierce, Tony (Raquel) Krapfl, Scott Krapfl, Naomi Krapfl, Cassandra Krapfl, Michael "Hank" Krapfl, Bethaney (William) Murillo, Conley Krapfl-Thorton, Thomas (Madison) Wendt, Lyndsey (Brandon) Wendt, Brittanie (Stephen) Owen, Alex Krapfl, Justine (Anthony) Gordon, Connor Ferdig, Austin Hysell; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronnie Conley.
