Marrill W. Tomlinson

Marrill W. Tomlinson, 78, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 19, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska with Reverend Del Olivier officiating.  Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, April 18, 2021 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. all at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Moville, Iowa.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Marrill was born May 31, 1942 in Moville, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Elva (Wilson) Tomlinson.  Marrill was raised on a farm in Moville and then later moved to Lawton, Iowa where he met the love to his life Margaret Boyle.  The couple were united in marriage on January 14, 1961 and then moved to Sioux City, where they raised four beautiful children.

Marrill worked various farm and construction jobs and worked for Sears.  In September of 1964, he started at Prince Hydraulics and retired in 2007 after 42 years with the company.

Marrill enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, working on his home, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was baptized Lutheran on January 14, 2020 at Unity Point Hospital.  Marrill was also a member of a Machinist Union. 

Survivors include his loving wife Margaret “Peg” (Boyle) Tomlinson of Sioux City; children:  Robert (Terri) Tomlinson of Sioux Falls, SD, Judith Nelson, David (Chris) Tomlinson, and Pamela Tomlinson all of Hinton, IA; grandchildren:  Kayla (Jordan) Jurgensen of Merrill, IA, Ashlei (Ean) Hanks of Hornick, IA, Tiffany Tomlinson of South Sioux City, NE, DJ Tomlinson of Sioux City, IA, Samantha (Jesse) Christensen of Merrill, IA, Anthony (Nichole Stevens) Tomlinson of Le Mars, IA, Jacob Tomlinson of South Sioux City, NE, Dale (Rosie) Timmerman of Jefferson, IA, Austin (Kaylene) Nelson of Le Mars, IA, and Shannon (Jack) Carlson of Whiting, IA; great grandchildren:  Cody (Jade), Ethan, Brianna, Sadie, Izabelle, Jayden, Brooklynn, Trinity, Aliviah, Alyssa, Camden, Karson, Elliott, Carter, Marquis, Jaycee, Mia, Maxton, and Sebestian; siblings:  Clifford (Joann) Tomlinson of Moville, IA, and Lana (John) Boyle of Lawton; sister-in-law Bernadine Mericial of Jackson, NE; brother-in-law Mick (Sheryl) Boyle of Allen, NE; and sister-in-law Pat Tomlinson of Ida Grove, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Elva Tomlinson, brothers:  Richard, Harold, and Max Tomlinson, Grandmother Edith Wilson, parents-in-law: Mike and Margaret Boyle, and his grandson Dustin Nelson.

Pallbearers will be Ean Hanks, Dale Timmerman, David Tomlinson Jr., Austin Nelson, Anthony Tomlinson, and Jacob Tomlinson.

Honorary Pallbearer is Dustin Nelson.
