Martha O. Morley

Martha O. Morley, 88, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Bickford Memory Care.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Morningside Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Martha was born June 4, 1933 in Watermen, IL, the daughter of Gerhard and Gladys (Berg) Olson. She attended grade school in Rockford, IL, middle school in Huron, SD, and graduated with honors from Sioux City East High School in 1951. She worked at Younker Davidsons as a secretary for many years. On July 8, 1955, she married Tom Morley. To this union, 3 daughters were born. 

Martha was a devoted member of Morningside Lutheran Church since 1947. She was very involved with the church, serving in the Sunday School, Bible School, and in the Sarah Circle. She was also involved with the Longfellow PTA when her daughters were growing up, as well as Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Scandinavian Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending quality time with friends and was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan.  Martha was a dedicated mother and grandmother; she never missed an event her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were involved in. She was immensely generous, always putting her family and friends before herself. 

Those left to honor her memory are her daughters Monica (John) Haines, Leslie (Jon) Muston, Andrea (David) Raasch, all of Sioux City; grandchildren J.J. (Ranee) Muston, Jennie (Casey) Lee, John (Amber) Haines, Erica (Justin) Kellen, Alison (Josh Hair) Raasch, Natalie (Nick Perry) Raasch;  great-grandchildren Josh (Aly), Hannah, Brooklyn, Sydney, Carrissa, Lillia, Knox, Brycen, Jeremiah and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gerhard and Gladys Olson; beloved husband of 65 years, Tom Morley; sister Deanna (Denis) Zimmerman; and 2 grandsons.
