Tootie was born January 22, 1939 in Sioux City, IA to Ralph and Gertrude (Palmer) Crawford. She graduated in 1957 from Bishop Heelan HS in Sioux City. After graduating, she married Ron Mozak and had four children. Ron passed away in August of 1987. In September of 1995, Tootie entered into marriage with Tom Edwards in Sioux City
In addition to being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Tootie spent much of her life as an entrepreneur and small business owner. The customer interactions this provided suited her servant heart perfectly. Tootie’s kind and gentle nature created long-lasting friendships and left imprints on the hearts of everyone she met. She became a hockey enthusiast while watching her grandsons play from youth leagues through high school and beyond to Junior hockey and college hockey. One of her favorite hobbies was quilting, but adding her own Tootie-touch of a small pocket at the bottom to keep your feet warm. It warmed the hearts of her grandkids when they received one of these “quillows” which have become sentimental heirlooms.
Tootie was preceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Gertrude (Palmer) Crawford, her former husband Ron Mozak, her son Todd Mozak, her daughter Mary Ann Mozak, her sister Nan and brother-in-law Tom Heagney, her brother-in-law Rich Fergusen, her mother-in-law Marguerite Edwards, and her stepson Todd Edwards.
She is survived by her husband Tom Edwards, sister Lavonne Fergusen, son Tim (Tracey) Mozak, daughter Peggy (Aaron) Kraft, and daughter Jennifer (Dan) Wubbena, 20 grand children, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Tootie wanted to be remembered as a Christian who thanked the Lord everyday for all of the blessings He bestowed on her. Tootie’s faith in Jesus and the peace that He provided her was summed up in her favorite scripture: Matthew 11:28 (Jesus said) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Honorary pallbearers are: Trent Mozak, Brant Mozak, Corey Mozak, Jamie Mozak, Brittany Glissman, Paige Glissman, Brandon Glissman, Brady Glissman, Brock Glissman, and Addy Wubbena.
