Michael Roy Gregg

Michael Roy Gregg, 48, of Newcastle, NE passed away at his residence on August 2, 2013.Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Dr. Bud Christenson officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Silver Ridge Cemetery in rural Ponca.Michael was born on Oct. 18, 1964 at Laurel, NE, the son of Willard and Rose (Gray) Gregg, being the youngest of five children. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, and a member his entire life. He attended Silvercreek Dist # 19 at Ponca, NE later attending Newcastle Public School. Michael worked for a variety of trucking firms in the area and CVA. He was currently working for Wiedenfeld Farms.Michael was a proud member of the Newcastle Fire Dept. He enjoyed gardening and he was very proud of a huge garden he raised each year. Michael liked collecting guns. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He had a kind heart and a big smile. He was always loyal to his friends. He leaves behind a son, Michael Gregg of Kearney, NE; a granddaughter, Eraleigh Gregg; a grandson, Colton Meyer; a brother Mark (Peggy) Gregg of Newcastle, NE; three sisters, Bonnie (Dan) Ryan of Jackson, NE, Jerri Gregg of Wayne, NE and Carol (Norman) Tramp of Wynot, NE; nine nephews and nieces, Katie Gregg (Jess) Prewitt of Springview, NE, John Gregg and Holly of Ponca, NE, Paula Gregg (Matt) Dendinger of Ponca, NE, Julie Tramp (Matt) Williams of Wagner, SD, Nick and Lindsey Tramp of Dixon, NE, Gabriel (Melinda) Tramp of Norfolk, NE, David (Alexa) McNear of Bronson, IA., Jena (Rick) Reyes of Dakota Dunes, SD, Tim (Jodi) Ryan of Sioux City, IA, and Nolan Ryan at home; twenty great-nephews and nieces; an uncle, DeRoy (Peggy) Gregg of Ponca, NE; and three aunts, Mert (Gene) Sieck of Columbus, Ohio, Darlene Ritter of Lincoln, NE and June Foley of Omaha, NE.Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Rose Gregg; his maternal grandparents Edgar and Sarah Gray, and Jess and Myrtle Gregg.
