Michael Joe Reiners

Michael Joe Reiners, 78, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at a local hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Nelson Berger Northside Chapel.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mike was born April 2, 1944 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of William and Dena (Tuttle) Reiners.  He graduated from Remsen-Union Highschool, Class of 1963.  Mike married Joy Louise “Susie” Miller on July 25, 1964 in Le Mars, Iowa.  Susie preceded Mike in death on July 2, 2005 in Sioux City.  Mike was a mechanic most of his life, working at Graham Brake, Sterling Spring, and Steffen Inc.  He enjoyed finding treasures at garage sales, building and repairing items, scrapping, listening and participating in Swap Shop on the Radio and tinkering in the garage. 

Survivors include his children William “Billy” Reiners of Sioux City and Michael “Mikey” and wife Kathryn Reiners of Sioux City; six grandchildren:  Tony and wife Melody Rich, Ashley and husband Daniel Simpson, Joseph Reiners, and Tyler, Teagan, and Tristan Reiners; four great grandchildren:  Gracie, Bently, Randi Joy, and Dani Mae; son-in-law Randy Rich of South Sioux City, NE and sister Sandy Simpson of Moline, IL.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susie, son Raymond Joseph, daughter Dian Rich of South Sioux City, NE, grandson Michael Joseph Reiners, and two brothers George and Jim Reiners.
