Michael D. Tomoson

Mike Tomoson, 57, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away at MercyOne Hospital on Sunday, February 6, 2022, surrounded by close friend and family.  A Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.  Visitation, with family present, will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Michael was born on January 26, 1965 in Sioux City, Iowa to Victor “Butch” and Sandra “Sam” (Luft) Tomoson.  He graduated from South Sioux City High School and went on to attend Wayne State College. Mike then returned to Sioux City to work at Standard Bearing for 18 years, later moving to Omaha, Nebraska, to work for ConAgra.

Mike enjoyed cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, especially in football; watching any type of automotive racing, from dirt track to NASCAR; spending time with family; listening to good music; and taking up art as a hobby in later years.

Mike is survived by his mother, Sam Tomoson of South Sioux City, NE; brothers, Pat (Janelle) Tomoson of Moville, IA, and Brian (Gina) Tomoson of Sergeant Bluff, IA; nieces and nephews, Shelby (Derek) Sherard of Marion, SD, Trevor (Kamra) Tomoson of Sioux City, IA, Bret (Ana) Tomoson of Sioux City, IA, and Erin Tomoson of Moville, IA; great-nieces and nephew, Ada Sherard, and Kash and Araya Nguyen; best friend, Mike Brennfoerder; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Butch Tomoson.
