Mondel Plummer

   Mondel L. Plummer, 65 of Denver, CO and formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in Denver, CO.

   A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

   Mondel was born Oscar Lee Plummer on August 10, 1954, to Lawrence Plummer, Sr. and Shirley Plummer in New Orleans, LA. He was raised in Sioux City. He entered the Marines after high school, where he served for two years before being honorably discharged.

   Soon after his time in the Marines, he married Debra Berglund. After their separation, he moved to Denver, CO, where he resided the next 30 years, having two more daughters and a son.

   Mondel had a heart of gold and a smile that could win you over immediately, with a bigger than life personality that was a force to be reckoned with. His smile, laugh, and love for his family and friends will always be cherished and missed. He was the best father, son, brother, uncle and friend you could ever ask for, and was always there for you to depend on.

   Mondel is survived by his mother, Shirley Plummer; his ex-wife, Debra (Berglund) Hamilton; daughters: Tiffany Dunn (Paris); Kathleen Lynch; and Ilayna Rose; son, Oscar Morrison; step-son, Jason Wainwright, Sr.; granddaughters: Mariah and Lailah Dunn; grandson, Amir Dunn; brother, Lawrence Plummer, Jr.; sisters: Jenell Mosley (Plummer); Shirley Plummer-Dowd; and Linda Plummer; half-sisters: Cheryl Sully and Patricia Parmalee; half-brothers: Lawrence Parmalee and Nathaniel Parmalee; and a host of others all equally loved by him.

   He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Plummer, Sr.; brothers: Melvin Plummer, Sr.; Phillip Plummer, Sr.; and Abraham Parmalee;  sister, Brenda Bryant; and his nephews whom he loved like his sons: Royal Bryant and Andre Plummer.
