Nancy Kay (Jolin) (Bean) Bricker of Sioux City passed away on January 8, 2022. Nancy, mom, Gamma, or Roonie was born sometime in the 20th century, her year of birth and age was not to be discussed, so your guess is as good as ours. Nancy lived most of her life in Sioux City, with frequent trips out of town to visit her kids and grandkids. She loved spending time with her family and friends. You could routinely see her around town having coffee, having lunch or wood carving at the senior center. Saying Nancy was a talented artist would be an understatement, the talent she had was a gift from God. The power struggle and negotiation tactics to obtain a piece of her art were of epic proportions. I hope you all kept those envelopes.
Maybe the most important thing about Nancy was her huge heart, she had a sixth sense when it came to people needing a lift. If she talked to you and she sensed that you were feeling down, you could guarantee that a letter, card or package was coming your way. There were even times when no discussion was needed, something would just show up at your door.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Brian (Denise) Bean, Earlham, IA, Jeff (Tracy) Bean, St. Charles, IA and Blade (Colleen) Bricker, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Tanner (Abby) Bean, Haley Bean, Sterling Bean, Spencer Bean, Baylie Bricker, and bonus grandchild Michael; great-grandchildren, Easton Bean and a second on the way; brother, James Jolin; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Jolin, Don and Helen Small; brother Jack Jolin; sisters-in-law, Carol Jolin and Diana Jolin.
A memorial service will 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. The family will greet friends starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
